WEBSITE RULES

We would like to keep our website as clean and as friendly as possible. Please help! Classifieds Please see our prohibited item list to ensure that you are following the rules.

Only personal sales will be allowed in our Classifieds section, this includes new items that you purchased and no longer need. The only exception to selling items for a profit is for stay at home moms or dads making handcrafted items for sale as a hobby. No exceptions!

No retail or wholesale items are allowed in our Classifieds section. If you have a legal company, or sale retail products please post your items in free business coupon section.

Shop Local Save will remove any item that does not follow our rules. Our classified section has been created to allow local residents to sell their unwanted items. Business solicitations are not allowed in the classifieds section. No exceptions! No out of area postings allowed.

Each member may place ads only in their city of location. No exceptions! Business Coupons Businesses are to advertise only in the city of their physical location.

Businesses are bound by law to honor the offers they publish on our website up to the expiration date of their coupons. Please see our Prohibited Items list for items that are not allowed in our website.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

• Anything Illegal

• Pet Sales – You may post Pet Adoptions for FREE or small with adoption fee.

• Items without a price

• Firearms, weapons and ammunition

• Government issued military items

• Free items to look like “Free estimate”, “Free parties” …etc.

• Resale of welfare, WIC coupons and donated items

• Non-local items

• Request of personal donations

• Counterfeit items

• Recalled items

• Sex related items or services

• Non-licensed daycare offers or non-licensed adoption services

• Alcohol, Tabaco, drugs and prescription drugs sale

• Work from home opportunities

FLAGGED ITEMS

Items will be flagged and removed from the website by our system monitors, our member monitors and by community vote. Excessive flagging will remove the member permanently out of our website.

• Posting prohibited items – check out our prohibited sales list.

• Posting items in the wrong category – Each item is to be posted in its proper category.  Business and Services ads are to be posted only in the Business & Services section, and in their proper category. • Over posting same items – only one ad per item should be posted. If you have the same item available in ten different colors, place only one ad, and specify that you have ten colors to choose from. You may re-post the ad after five days.

• Non-tangible items for sale – only tangibles items are to be posted on the classified section in their proper category. The only exception is the Jobs and Yard Sales category.

• Non-local postings – This is a local community website. Any ads advertising out of the area items will be removed.

PROPER AD POSTING

• Include a close up picture (s) of the item you are selling.

• Include in the description of the item as much information as you can.

• Sell the item for a reasonable price.

• Post only one ad per item – see flagged items rule – you may re-post the item every five days for more exposure.

• Remove item if it has been sold – Customers don’t like it when the item is not available any more.

For business ads – remove ad if offer or coupon is no longer available or it is expired.

LIFE OF THE AD

• The ad will be posted for thirty days.  The thirty day count will start on the last time the ad was edited or re-posted.

• The ad will be removed if flagged certain amount of times by other members.

• The ad will be removed immediately if we find it inappropriate for the site

AVOIDING SCAMS AND FRAUD

• You can avoid possible scammers by following these common-sense rules:

• Deal only with local people that you can meet in person.

• Never wire funds via Western Union, Moneygram or any other wire service.

• Be aware of fake dollar bills, cashier checks and money orders.

• Never give out financial information (bank account number, social security number or credit card information, etc.)

• Avoid deals involving shipping or escrow services. Be aware that only a scammer will “guarantee” your transaction.
